Five

Today is my birthday.  I'm five years old today in people years. 

 To celebrate, I slept late.  Then I took a long drive with my people.  I put my head out the window, sniffed, whined with excitement, and ran back and forth between the windows so I didn't miss anything.  I love riding in the woods.

 We stopped and had a picnic and a little walk.  Later, we stopped again and I swam and swam in the Buffalo River.  I tried to stay far from the shore, because I didn't want to get out of the water.  I caught leaves that were floating by in the river.

All that fun wore me out, and I slept most of the way home.  When we got home,  ate a Greenie and  took a nap on my very favorite chair.  I ate little bits of steak and bacon from a fork. Getting to spend the whole day with my people would have been enough of a treat for my birthday, but getting to r-i-d-e and swim made it the best day ever!
