Flag Rug

Christina and I had talked about signing up for a rug hooking class at a local flea market, and finally did it, despite the need for masks and social distance.  I'm so glad we did!  While I wasn't quite as good at it as I expected to be, it was still enjoyable and I like the finished product.
We've both purchased the kit that the teacher is using for the August class, even though we won't attend the class.  I've been saving all sort of ideas on Pinterest for future rugs. The teacher from the class has a small shop in Ozark which is full of beautiful colors of wool, much of which she has dyed.  I'm looking forward to making more!  For now though, my pumpkin project sits in the closet while I stare at a pile of masks that I should be finishing.

Staycation

Wonderful long weekend at the lake. The dogs got to swim 4 times in 3 days, and the people enjoyed lots of good food, including tomatoes from our backyard.

The weather cooperated, even if it was hot and humid most of the time.
We enjoyed a socially distant lunch from the boat.

I get a kick out of Annie’s curls, especially in the high humidity. Notice she’s holding my hand in this picture. Funny girl!
Fletcher mastered swimming from the dock this weekend! He has a great launch, and made a lot of improvement using the stairs to get back on the dock. That was a little rough at first, but witha bit more practice, he’s got it now.

Covid Life

Hello, long neglected blog! Hello one or two people who might still check it! My Facebook feed is filled with Coronavirus news, fear, and anxiety, and I need to take a break from it. Even in these crazy times, there’s a million things to be thankful for and to enjoy.
Spending time in our perfectly imperfect backyard.
 Making and eating good food.
 Stumbling upon old pictures.
Sharing a chair with the pups.

Enjoying the flowers of summer.

Taking time to learn something new such as rug hooking.
Spending time at the lake (easy to social distance there).
And celebrating health, especially after a successful appendectomy for David.
