The upstairs landing got a little facelift. I replaced a rug with a my favorite rug color combination - Joseph's Coat 778 from Colonial Braided Rug Company.
This little chair was white. When I painted a bookcase a few weeks ago, it got a coat - or three - of red as well, followed by a layer of antiquing wax. When it was pink after the first coat of paint, I was pretty sure I'd made a mistake, but I like the way it turned out.
A new Home Sweet Home pillow from Valley Primitives on Etsy completed the update. I think Gracie approves!
It's been hot, hot, hot. We took advantage of a few less hot days to go to the fair, where we ate delicious bad-for-you foods. Yesterday morning after dropping Riley off at the groomer, we stopped by Hurts Donut to see their new place. Since we were there already, it seemed only right to have a donut. They have all kinds of crazy flavor combinations, but I can never resist a donut with pink icing and sprinkles. This one is called Homer, and it was delicious. It was worth an extra minute or two at the Y! ;)I found another way to keep cool Sunday afternoon - a visit to my two favorite flea markets. Nothing like fall decorations to remind you that it won't be hot forever!
