The peony made it! We have two flowers and one more large bud. The small buds look dried out, so I'm not sure they'll bloom. But it made it!

Silver Dollar City
Saturday, I met Dawn, Colby, and Sam at Silver Dollar City. The amount of traffic going in was pretty amazing! It wasn't too terribly crowded once inside though.
Dawn didn't ride the little roller coaster alone - if you look closely, you can see Sam peeking out the top of the car.
Everyone should have their pictures taken in the giant rocking chair!
Sam managed to do what we all would have liked to be doing near the end of our day - take a nap! :)
David worked at boat show at the Port of Kimberling this weekend, so I went to see him there after leaving SDC. We had a nice dinner at our favorite Chinese buffet in Branson. My fortune said that I would be good at a career in computer technology. Gee - I hope it's right since I am four years into my current IT job. :)

New Friends in the Yard
We have irises this year! This is our third spring here, and the leaves have always come up. But no iris until this year. There are more waiting to bloom - I wonder if they're all the same color.
David's lemon tree is glad to be back outside where Henrietta can't dig in it. It's covered with tiny little lemons. Maybe, just maybe, we'll get to eat one of them this year!
This will also be our first spring that the peonies may make it! The first year, Tuley smothered them in doggy stench by laying on them. Somehow, this discouraged them from blooming. Can't imagine. The late frost got them last year, but this is their year!

The Road Less Traveled
Happy Mother's Day! My mom is in Orlando, but we still managed a very busy Mother's Day! We started the day at the Battlefield Methodist church with the Zahns, who were my second family growing up. We gorged on a delicious lunch fixed by Christina, then took a quick power nap before heading to Ozark to Con and John's. We once again were filled to overflowing, but the highlight of the trip came after dinner when we boarded four-wheelers to see the new outhouse my uncle built at his park. Yes, that is my grandmother on the back of the four-wheeler! No, we didn't just get her to pose there. She made the trip into the woods to see the park too!
John has created many trails and places to stop and enjoy being still. A spring comes out of the hillside here near this bench. The wildflowers and woods were just beautiful. Once the motors on the four-wheelers are shut off, the only sound is the water spilling over the rocks.
'Tis a privilege to live in the Ozarks.

Introducing the Newest YOSA Member
Introducing Emma, Todd's new puppy. She is the cutest, rolliest, sweetest girl! We just got to visit her a few minutes tonight before the storm came through. We hurried home to get our "puppy" inside before he was a wet dog.
Tuley is very excited about meeting this new friend. Wonder what Emma will think of Tuley!

ArtsFest 2008
Today my groom and I made our annual pilgrimage to ArtsFest downtown. The joke of ArtsFest is that it always rains. This weekend was the exception - the weather was perfectly beautiful. Tuley was a huge (ha ha - huge!) hit! He made lots of friends. He patiently let lots of little kids pet him and only drooled on a couple of them. David gave him a bath on Friday, so he was very soft and pretty. We saw two dogs bigger than him - a Great Dane and a Newfoundland. He was quite a bit bigger than the two miniature ponies that were there. I can't believe I didn't think to take a picture of that!
This ArtsFest marks 8 years for David and I. Hard to believe, but time flies when you're having fun!
Happy Cinco de Mayo manana!

Kentucky Derby Party
Today was the second annual Kentucky Derby Party at Krista's. Here we all are - beautiful hats and all! More pictures on Flickr...
This morning Christina and I went to the Farmer's Market and greenhouse. The hosta, fern, and impatiens bed is officially finished! So long as Tuley can stay out of it. Time will tell. :)
