Four Christmases - Erin's Movie Review

If you have not yet seen Four Christmases with Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon, you must go. My mom and I saw it today and laughed through the whole thing. Too often, the funniest parts of movies are in the previews, then the movie itself is so-so. Not this one - aside from the more serious moments, it was even funnier than the previews.

Do You See What I See?

City Sidewalks, Way Too Busy Sidewalks, Dressed in Holiday Style

I ventured out into the cold cruel retail world today. It wasn't terrible, but I don't plan to do it again. At Gordmans, the line was about 40 people long. I'm not exaggerating - that's my best estimate. I decided I didn't need anything bad enough to stand in that line, so I gave away my coupons and headed out - not mad or anything, just relieved. I hopped back in my car and drove home. I opened my computer and through the magic of online shopping, found a couple of great (I hope) gifts. And with free shipping! Bless the angels of free shipping. I've ordered half or more of my gifts online this year and haven't paid shipping yet. I love online shopping! I should probably be concerned that I have memorized my credit card number though...

Tree Tour Part Three

For the big millennium new year celebration, Rob's mom invited all of his buddies to a party at the Tower Club. We wore fancy dresses - the girls anyway - and the guys wore tuxes. It was fun, and a memorable way to spend the BIG New Year. My mom went shopping with me for the perfect shoes for my dress. That Christmas, she gave me this sparkly ruby red slipper ornament.

This is from the big Coke store in Las Vegas. We had the best Cokes I've ever had at that store.

Just after we started dating, David took me on a mystery trip. I didn't know where we were going until we were in the St. Louis airport. I know! He's great! We went to Sanibel, Florida for a long weekend. That's where this Santa in a shell came from. It is the first of many ornaments collected on trips with him.

'Tis the Season

It was a good day! First, my mom brought us (brought David) Peanut Butter Fudge. Then, Patty brought us cinnamon rolls. What have we done to deserve this much decadent sweetness? I'm pretty sure we don't deserve it, but we are ever so grateful!
Notice that there are large chunks missing from each - I couldn't get to the camera quickly enough!

New Look

I haven't changed the title picture of the blog since...never. So, I was a little hesitant. I like the previous picture a lot, but I thought it would be fun to have a more wintry look. I found some beautiful pictures (thanks Google images!) of snow covered roads, but I thought this one looked a bit more like the Ozarks in winter. Lots of trees, maybe a bit of snow, and weak sunshine. What do you think? Is the blog too hard to read now that it is red?

Tree Tour Part Two

David's parents also had a December wedding, and this silver bell was given to them on their 25th wedding anniversary. It makes a beautiful, clear sound. Last year, as a tiny token of our gratitude to my parents, we gave them a silver bell that is very similar.

My Grandmother has been giving me ornaments for years. You'll see several those on the tree tour. This year David and I each recieved one of these pretty glittery balls. I'm not usually much of a glittery person, but at Christmas it just looks so magical.
