I came across this video while looking for something else. The initial shots of winding road first caught my attention but the sorrowful tune hooked me. Great shots of places that need further exploration.

Once when on my way home to NC from Indiana, I decided that US 52 looked on the map to be a "short cut" from Lexington, KY down to Winston Salem, NC.
What the map did NOT tell me was, I was going to spend MUCH of that trip through West Virginia on roads JUST like the paved roads on this video.
It took me HOURS longer, and had hubby been with me, I would have enjoyed it - - - as it was with two small children in car seats, I was a NERVOUS WRECK before I got back on "real" highways!!!
